On June 22, 2008, The Fringe Hair Company hosted Xposure; an exclusive event, and raised 25 thousand dollars to support Myeloma Canada, a non-profit organization created by, and for, people living with Multiple Myeloma.
Multiple Myeloma is a type of cancer that affects blood plasma cells. Myeloma is regarded as incurable, but remission may be induced through steroids, chemotherapy, medication and stem cell transplants. In Canada, approximately 1840 people are diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma every year. There are currently about 6000 Canadians living with this illness, including the mother of one of our team members, who was recently diagnosed with this disease.
Myeloma Canada's motto, "Unknown. Unnoticed. Until Now." truly demonstrates the spirit of Xposure.
The event included a silent auction and head shave. There were also performances by The Lazy River jazz band followed by the amazing house music of DJ Jeff Humphreys.
The Fringe Hair Company has been a part of the Calgary community for 14 years and is a strong team of dedicated hairstylists proud to give back to the community that has given us so much.
