Armed with backgrounds in hairstyling and marketing and a will to succeed, John and Lotte Davis started AG Hair Cosmetics in the basement of their Vancouver home in 1989. Now, 19 years later, AG is a true success story.
Dissatisfied with the performance of many of the professional products in the market, John and Lotte started the company with one simple vision - to create superior hair products.
Delving into the hair industry and managing a business were familiar territories to the pair: John a former hairstylist; Lotte a former graphic designer.
From the beginning, the two have taken a leading role in AG's manufacturing process, closely studying formulations and ingredients for their beneficial features. John and Lotte started AG by hand filling bottles of shampoo and crafting their own labels at night. By day, they would personally deliver AG products to salons. In 1990, AG opened the doors of its first manufacturing plant, and in 2001, AG launched into the U.S. market.
The Davises have employed their skills and experience to enhance the products' appeal. The clean lines and high-quality feel of the products have continually captivated AG’s loyal and growing customer base. In fact, AG has one of the highest repeat purchase rates in the industry.
